Frequently asked questions
It’s completely normal to have questions before an aesthetics treatment. Here are some of the things clients ask Lisa most often, including what to expect before, during and after treatment.
-
Most people describe the treatment as only mildly uncomfortable. You may feel a brief scratch or sting at the injection site. Lisa will explain what to expect beforehand and make sure you feel comfortable throughout.
-
Temporary redness, swelling, bruising or mild discomfort can occur around the injection sites. Lisa will talk you through the potential side effects and aftercare before treatment so you know what to expect.
-
The aim is always a subtle, natural-looking result. Treatment is planned around your features and what genuinely suits you, not around creating a completely different look.
-
You don’t need to know before you book. During your consultation, Lisa will listen to what you would like to improve, assess the area and explain which options may be suitable, including when treatment isn’t necessary.
-
Your consultation is a chance to talk through your concerns, goals and any questions you have. Lisa will assess suitability, explain the available options and recommend an approach based on your individual needs. There is no pressure to proceed with treatment.
-
Bruising, swelling, redness, tenderness and mild discomfort can occur following dermal filler treatment. Swelling and bruising usually settle with time, although the amount and duration vary between individuals. Lisa will explain the potential risks and aftercare before treatment.
-
This varies depending on the product used, the area treated and the individual. Lisa’s existing guidance suggests results can commonly last around 9–18 months, although some treatments may last for a shorter or longer period. Your expected result and maintenance will be discussed during consultation.
-
Some changes can be visible immediately, particularly following dermal filler treatment, but swelling and settling can affect how the area initially looks. Lisa will explain the expected timeline for your particular treatment and whether a review is recommended.
-
Preparation depends on the treatment you are having. Lisa will provide the appropriate pre-treatment guidance before your appointment, including anything you should avoid or be aware of beforehand.
-
Aftercare varies depending on the treatment. You will be given clear instructions about what to avoid, how to look after the treated area and what is normal during recovery. If you have any concerns afterwards, you can contact Lisa for advice.
-
An in-person consultation costs £30. The consultation fee is non-refundable but can be redeemed against treatment booked following your consultation.
